A 19th century Continental silver gilt inkwell, of tapered cylindrical form with finely pierced and chased decoration of three bearded mask figure heads surrounded by scrolls, foliage, flowers and putti, and applied butterflies, the hinged cover with a pierced gallery and figural finial, engraved with initials, opening to clear glass inkwell with silver gilt mount for London, 1890, maker WC, raised on three scroll and fawn supports, 11.5cm high x 12cm wide. £300-500
