EXPLORE YOUR CAMPUS

Explore the campus. Explore the town. Discover things that you might like to do or take part in and do them. You might make friends in the process.

If you come from Manchester, London, Durham or Birmingham then take a look at the student city guides.

SNAIL-MAIL

Snail mail, Skype, Instant Messenger and Google Talk are all excellent methods of communication for people who are abroad to communicate with their loved ones.

Sometimes a hand written letter, postcard or small gift can have a lot more sentiment than an email or e-card.

Also, it is not suggested that you call home too often, once or twice a week only – the last thing you want when you are away from home is feeling as if you are missing out.

KEEP HEALTHY

When you’re feeling ill you tend to want to be home and looked after by your mum and rest of the family; when you are in the UK, you are going to have to take care of yourself.

Avoid all types of illness like freshers flu – eat well, get enough sleep and make sure you are drinking water regularly.
