Ranked 52nd in the world in the 2013 QS World University Rankings, UNSW is a founding member of the Group of Eight, a coalition of Australia's leading research-intensive universities, as well as a member of the prestigious international network Universitas 21. We also recently become a member of Association of Pacific Rim Universities network (APRU), a network of 44 leading research- intensive universities in the Asia-Pacific region.


Our University is globally recognised for cutting-edge teaching, research, state-of-the-art facilities and quality of student life. . Our graduates are highly sought after by employers and amongst the highest paid in Australia.


We are the first university in the world to be awarded five star plus rating by QS Intelligence Unit in 2012 based on assessment areas such as innovation, culture, student engagement and facilities. And we retained the same rating again in 2013.


We also scored the maximum five-star rating for twelve key performance indicators such as getting a job, starting salaries, student to staff ratios and positive


graduate outcomes in the 2014 Good Universities Guide, more than any other university in Australia. We attract high-achieving students from across Australia and around the world. And with 13,000 international students from more than 120 different countries, we have one of Australia’s most diverse student populations.


A wide range of degree programs, pre-university/foundation studies and English language courses are offered. There are more than 900 degree programs available ranging from undergraduate programs (Bachelor degrees at pass and honours level) to postgraduate coursework programs (Master degrees, Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates) and postgraduate research programs (Master by thesis and Doctor of


Philosophy). Programs are offered through the faculties of: Arts and Social Sciences, Built Environment, Australian School of Business, College of Fine Arts, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Science and UNSW Canberra at Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA). Within our nine faculties, there are 75 schools, six institutes and four teaching hospitals.


Our main campus is located within easy reach of Sydney CBD, and being only five minutes away from Coogee beach, makes us the closest university to an ocean beach in Australia. Other major campuses are the College of Fine Arts in the Sydney suburb of Paddington and UNSW Canberra at ADFA. All three campuses provide a vibrant educational and communal environment.
