hippers from Dutch Dragon incorporate systems to achieve greater efficiency
and improved quality and homogeneity in the final product. The 550 CV and 760 CV machines have a second, exclusive, hydraulically-activated counter-blade at the entrance to the chipping drum called the Delta knife.
The counter-blade is at 90º to the entrance, meaning that the impact angle between the branches and the chipping drum is acute, which ensures that the cut is made. At the same time, the drum is slightly oval-shaped
and assembled with two-four blades (depending on the size of chip required) that stand out to cut the material and also avoid excessive pressure that could lead to breakage.
The drum shape, the cutting speed of 1,000 rpm and the angles formed by the blades and counter-blades allow the cut to be clean and the exit of the chips to be done without additional extraction air or screws, which avoids the formation of fine particles and dust. This ensures greater efficiency, which is equivalent to consuming less fuel. More information from

Portable power plant from Spain
A new concept in portable, thermal power generation has been developed by Spanish company Grupo Clavijo. It is a container that comprises a complete installation: storage silo for pellets or chips and four boilers; complete hydraulic installation; electrical switch box; lighting; and plumbing. The container is assembled on site so that the only preparation required is a concrete floor, which results in a major reduction in
installation costs. It is then simply a matter of connecting the cold water and the hot water return, as well as the electricity to the new thermal power plant.
Containers of this type could be the most suitable solution for solving the immediate energy needs of farms, small to medium-sized commercial enterprises, care homes, sports centres and caravan sites. More information from
