Chipper with

chipper and does not have to sheer out of line in order to transport the chipped material. This argument also applies for chipping fuel wood logs in forests with narrow paths or in the mountains.

It also ensures improved

fl exibility and chip discharge speeds are achieved, thus avoiding extra movements from the chipper, which can be very inconvenient when space is limited.

Blowing is done

hydraulically, which means that the output speed of the chip can be modified independently from that of the chipping. This is a useful factor when the chipping speed drops quickly because the chip output speed is maintained, reducing the risk of the chipper blocking with chip build-ups in the outlet.

T

he new HEM 582R chipper from Jenz has a chip blower installed in the middle of the

chipper truck, between the

driver‘s cab and the chipping cell, so that wood chippings can be thrown out to the front above the driver’s cab. This construction method provides

Log grippers

Heizogrief grippers for logs, branches, treetops and brushwood are produced by Heizomat GmbH in three sizes weighing 550, 610 and 735 kg. The gripper tongs are oper- ated by two double-action hydraulic cylinders with a maximum oil pressure of 200

bar. Opening width is up to 1,260 mm.

Various methods of connec- tion to tractors are available, including a screw plate to facilitate quick changes. More information from www.heizomat.de

three advantages. It is, for example, less dangerous to chip roadside vegetation on highways when the loading truck is in front of the mobile

The machine is capable of chipping trunks up to 42 cm diameter for hardwood and 56 cm diameter for conifers and other softwoods.

Big wood harvester

The latest harvester from Rottne, H21D, is built with six or eight wheels and is powered by a diesel engine with the latest technology that meets emission regulation Tier 4 (FT4). The machine has a new hydrostatic transmission with a very high tractive force and

is intended for harvesting big wood with a new, stronger loader that has a higher lifting and slewing torque.

The harvester head has also been also upgraded and to be able to use this to its full extent, the hydraulic system has been equipped with two pumps. The cab is swivelling and levelling and has been fitted with a new foundation, giving it a softer turning motion and a

larger angle of rotation. More information from www.rottne.com
