Online auction celebrates respected teacher Continued from page 1
The School’s Development Officer, Lindy Hacker, who oversaw the auction, said, “The support for Eddy and the MNDA was fabulous. People’s generosity staggered us. Overall it raised £2,035.00, which is pretty good, although some bargains were had.
“The item with the most bids was the outing in the Bentley, which included lunch at the Aldeburgh Wentworth Hotel. This had 6 people bidding, with the final bid for £110.00 received only seconds before the auction closed!”

Richard Hudson ’74-‘81 Committee
Richard was at Ipswich School from 1974 to 1981 before studying Engineering at Cambridge. He then spent 12
years working for Ernst & Young in London and Sydney, Australia. More recently, he has worked for a number of professional or technology consulting companies including Smart421 Ltd, headquartered in Ipswich, where he is currently their Finance Director. Richard adds, “I am married to Corinna, and have 3 teenage sons, the two youngest of whom are at Ipswich School in Years 9 and 12. They think the running and triathlons I enjoy are verging on insanity, but we are all very happy to watch some rugby together.”
Clare Lock ’93-‘95 Committee
After Amberfield, Clare (nee Warnes) studied for her A Levels at Ipswich School. Then, with the offer of a Short Service Limited
Commission in the Royal Signals, she attended Sandhurst. However, after postings in Germany and York, a serious sky-diving accident led to a medical discharge. Clare then qualified in Management Science at Loughborough and now, with an MBA, is Business Services Director of an aluminium castings manufacturer in Hadleigh. Married to a beef farmer, and proud mum of four year-old twins, in her spare time Clare runs her own business, The Suffolk Hat Company, making hats and fascinators to hire or buy.
