New faces
Richard Wilson ’70-‘81 President
Richard has had a long career as a tenor soloist in classical music (with the professional name Richard Edgar-Wilson), performing in over
thirty countries and working with many of the world’s top orchestras and conductors. He has opened an opera house, sung at La Scala in Milan and appeared in two Oscar- nominated feature fi lms. The son of an OI, he spent 11 years at Ipswich School as a boy and has now clocked up another 11 years as a parent.
Trevor Woods ’50-‘53 Vice-President
After leaving school in 1953, and two years National Service, Trevor’s working life has been in the central heating radiator industry - in
distribution, manufacturing, and since 1988 as an agent representing manufacturers throughout Western Europe and Scandinavia.
With his wife Mary, Trevor moved to Italy in 1999. In 2010 they were involved with the Chapel Choir Tour to Krakow, and later, following the launch of the New Music School Campaign, agreed to help fund the purchase of a new Steinway Concert Grand Piano with the Wolfson Foundation. However, Mary died suddenly on their journey home, and sadly never heard this magnifi cent instrument.
Trevor is currently helping Andrew Leach with planning next year’s Chapel Choir Tour to his part of Tuscany.
Guy Main ’69-‘79 Chairman
After having a go at fi lm-making and sail-making, Guy has spent the majority of his working life in the shipping business. He was fi rst a
shipbroker, and, for the last fi fteen years, has put his commercial experience to good use in the world of maritime law. He has travelled widely in the Far East and Indian sub-continent, and lived for a while in Hong Kong and Geneva. His passions away from work – “and so my real joys” - are his wife, Helen, three children (all at Ipswich School), sailing, music and God.

Jessica Davey ’96-‘09
Junior Vice-President Jess is a third-year management student at the University of Manchester. She says that, through studying management, she
has learned a lot about marketing and sociology, but has particularly enjoyed the corporate social responsibility side of the course. In January 2013, Jess will be working for ‘Business in the Community,’ a global corporate social responsibility company.
Jess had been at the school for 15 years, following the building of the Pre-Prep and the school starting to take girls. She says, “I am excited to join the committee, and, as an Old Ipswichian, my aim is to get more people from my year group to come to OI events.”

Ben Eagle ’03-‘08 Junior President
Ben left the school in 2008 and served as Junior Vice- President of the OI Club throughout 2012. In 2009 he co-produced and directed the fi rst
Old Ipswichian dramatic production, The History Boys, and recently provided the Club with a bespoke real ale, Rigaud’s Remedy. He is currently studying History at Bristol University, but eventually wants to pursue a career in agriculture. Believing strongly that the Club should help members stay in touch with the school, he would be very happy to work with any OI wanting to work on a new project, such as another drama production.
Sally Webber ’93-‘95 Secretary
Sally specialises in food and agriculture policy, and advises a member of the Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs Select Committee, and the Shadow
Defra frontbench team in Parliament. She has worked at the RSPB and Defra, where she was Specialist Adviser to the Secretary of State and covered food and agriculture for Hilary Benn. She lives in Suffolk with her husband, and their two sons.
