An invitation to you
Durham University has established an Institute of Advanced Study that spans the full spectrum of disciplines. The IAS is both an invitation and a challenge. We hope you will accept them both. Engage with a wide-ranging programme of activities, apply for a prestigious fellowship, take-up a partnership opportunity, and propose the next innovative event.
Acknowledgements
The IAS is very grateful to those organisation and individuals who support the Institute’s programme.
Cosin’s Hall
Cosin’s Hall, built in the early 18th century, is situated between Durham Cathedral and Castle on Palace Green - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally a mansion it served as a University Hall and provided accommodation to the first students at Durham University when the University opened its doors 175 year ago. Now the home of the Institute of Advanced Study, Cosin’s Hall opened its doors to the Institute’s inaugural fellows in January 2007.
