Resource Assistance for Youth | $8,000
The kitchen program at Resource Assistance for Youth – also known as RaY – incorporates a daily meal during the drop-in and offers training and work experience for youth participants, who gain basic kitchen work skills while preparing snacks and daily meal.
Seven Oaks School Division | $2,900
Collicutt School Cooking with Kids, a program for children four to 12 years old, brings parents and kids together in the kitchen to teach families how to prepare nutritious and inexpensive meals.
Teen Stop Jeunesse | $7,400
With its Nourishing Potential grant, Teen Stop Jeunesse will enhance its current Lifeskills program by providing daily meals for the 40 youth attending the program.
The Elwick Village and Recource Centre | $6,000
The Elwick Village and Resource Centre’s Nourishing Potential grant will help support children in the Sistema Winnipeg after- school program, facilitated by the WSO and Seven Oaks School Division, held at Elwick Community School. In the last year the program has grown from 35 to 65 children.
West Broadway Youth Outreach | $9,500
West Broadway Youth Outreach’s Healthy Kids project will provide daily nutritious options for 50 youth. Its Nourishing Potential grant will support groceries, a new refrigerator and Food Handler Certificate training for staff.
Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport and Recreation Association | $8,000
The Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport and Recreation Association’s Eco U Kids Camp nutrition Program will help 1,000 children ages seven to 12 learn about healthy choices and consume nutritious snacks daily while attending camp. Eco-U is one of the largest day camp programs in the city for Aboriginal and inner-city children.
Youth for Christ | $3,055
Youth for Christ’s YouCook program aims to improve the cooking skills and nutritional knowledge of youth ages 10-16. Participants will learn to follow a recipe, understand simple cooking techniques, and identify food groups.

GROW AN ORCHARD, NOURISH A CITY
The Nourishing Potential Fund is targeted to be a $5 million endowment – this is our orchard that will be here forever.
A fund of this size will generate approximately $250,000 per year for granting – this is our annual harvest. Please help us grow an orchard and nourish a city.
