Join Twin Cities Green Drinks July 10
T
win Cities Green Drinks will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on July 10
at Golden’s Deli, in St Paul. This free meeting brings eco-minded citizens together on the second Wednesday of
each month. While the location changes every month, it is usually a local business that serves local or organic food and is eco-friendly. At each meeting, a guest speaker has the floor for 10 to 15 minutes, to share information about his or her business. Scheduled for July is Alicia Wold from Costume Rentals. Wold will share information about how the Children’s Theatre Company and the Guthrie Theater created a partnership that allows both theaters to benefit from the combined stock of their costumes. The costume warehouse is also open to the public on specified days and times each month.
Green Drinks is a global organization found in cities all over the world. The orga- nization is made up of local volunteers that bring people together each month to share ideas, stories, goals, news and other environmental information.

‘Make Dinner, Not Waste’ Workshop
E
ureka Recycling is partnering with Mississippi Market, in St. Paul, to host a “Make Dinner, Not Waste” workshop. It will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on July 31. To help prevent wasted food,
Eureka Recycling has launched a new website at
MakeDirtNotWaste.org. Free tools available for download include a meal planner, shopping tools and a food storage guide. Also included are helpful videos and an online chat room to connect with others striving to reduce food waste and save money.
While no one buys food with the intention of throwing it away, recent estimates show that the average house- hold in St. Paul wastes up to $96 worth of food every month. Learning simple ways to shop smarter and store food better helps the environment as well as household budgets. More workshops will take place
in September. If anyone would like to schedule a workshop in their neighbor- hood, contact Eureka Recycling.
Cost: $5; optional toolkit $15. Loca- tion: Mississippi Market, 1500 W. 7th St., St. Paul. Registration required. For more information or to register, call Eu- reka Recycling at 651-222-7678 or visit
MakeDirtNotWaste.org.
