Local Tavistock Author Publishes new Novel

By John Hutchins

THE autobiography of a 101-year-old Spanish anarchist provides a rich background to a debut e-book by a Tavistock author.

Kevin Eady, who lives in Glanville Road, has published his first novel, ‘Uncontrollable’ — the tale of Buenaventura Garcia. Based on fiction but drawn on real events the story follows Buenaventura from his birth in Barcelona in 1909 before destiny leads him to his participation in the Spanish Civil War, the concentration camps of France and Germany, surviving a gulag and playing his part in Russian rebellion before his life is transformed and he finds himself Amsterdam.

shocking twist in the tale..”

‘In many ways,’ says Kevin, ‘like most of us Buenaventura’s life is uncontrollable in how events around him affect his own destiny.

‘When it comes to this book, of course, you have a dream of worldwide success but I’m more realistic. If it sells I will feel it has been worthwhile and if enough people enjoy the e-book then I will be happy with that.’
