IFSEC CELEBRATES its 40th anniversary in 2013 and more than 650 leading solution providers, from 100 countries, will meet at Birmingham’s NEC from 13-16 May to showcase the latest tech- nology and offer expert knowledge and advice from industry experts
IFSEC IS THE UK’S premier security trade show and will showcase the latest industry devel- opments and brings together knowledge and expertise from across the global security sector. It includes the IFSEC Academy, which houses seven education theatres where visitors can learn from leading lights in the industry, allowing opportunities to improve knowledge through training to meet evolving business needs. There is a new IFSEC Speed Networking zone brand new for 2013. It provides installers the opportunity to make the most of their time by gaining new business and opens prospects to get advice about the best and most cost effective products to make their business secure. CCTV & Video Surveillance benefits from a dedicated product area at IFSEC International and the latest products and services from across the industry will be on show. Technical innova- tions across video surveillance, central control rooms, high-definition technology, ANPR, IP cameras, remote surveillance, thermal imaging
and video analytics will be displayed to the marketplace so visitors can source, compare and test the latest products.
Things to see at IFSEC 2013 Genetec has chosen IFSEC 2013 as the ideal location for the European
launch of its brand new Stratocast cloud-based video surveillance sys- tem. It also plans to showcase the latest version of its unified security platform Security Center and the all-new Synergis Master Controller to the crowds at Birmingham’s NEC. Winsted is to debut its latest EnVision control room furniture range at IFSEC, featuring a radical new modular design to blend form and function in an ergonomically optimised single, double or triple tier con- figuration. Sony have promised there will be a series of ‘exciting developments’ with a new line-up of HD security products and services - with its Generation 6 range and award-winning IPELA engine playing a major role in the technologies – all to be unveiled at IFSEC 2013. Fujifilm Europe has confirmed it will display its brand new high- resolution day/night Fujinon Varifocal lenses with p-iris function and the Fujinon DF360SR4A-SA2, both of which joins its line of wide angle lenses for use in CCTV cameras on show at the event. Redvision is to showcase its latest X-SERIES Dual Light rugged dome/ball PTZ camera. Utilising super-efficient LEDs with an illumina- tion range of 100m in the IR and white light modules, the Dual Light can toggle automatically between modes to suit ambient lighting conditions. Samsung is demonstrating its new 2MP Full HD (1080P) network camera range incorporating its WiseNetIII DSP chipset. Samsung has a completely redesigned stand for 2013, which it has divided into vertical market zones which will feature opportunities to get hands-on with prod- ucts and meet with Samsung’s technical and training team. Raytec will launch its new range of VARIO IP Network Illuminators and provide live product demonstrations to the crowds. VARIO IP is available in both infra-red and white-light and can be remotely set-up, operated or maintaining via an integrated web interface or video manage- ment system.
UTC Fire and Security is launching several new products at IFSEC 2013, including a combined camera-PIR unit, a new line of advanced aspirated air detection devices, a complete suite of perimeter detec- tion products, an upgraded video management system to enhance the TruVision range capability, and UTC’s new 868MHz wireless products. IDIS has revealed its IFSEC stand will be dedicated to showcasing simple and affordable, plug-and-play, high-definition (HD) DirectIP video solutions for business large and small. Its DirectIP solutions will be demonstrated across three distinct ‘experience zones’ for improving security operations across enterprises large, medium or small. Mayflex was recently announced as the UK’s sole Avigilon value- added distributor for, a leader in high-definition and megapixel video surveillance solutions. Their team of experts are set to explain the ben- efits of Avigilon and the other products within the Mayflex Converged IP portfolio to visitors to its IFSEC stand. Cathexis is showcasing its new CatVision VMS Suite and offering visitors the chance to download a free trial version. CatVision supports the ONVIF interoperability standard, and integrates with the majority of IP camera brands, including Acam, ACTi , AMG Panogenics, Arecont Vision, Axis, Bosch, Canon, Hikvision, Honeywell, Mobotix, Oncam, Panasonic, Pelco, Samsung, Sony, and Vivotek. LILIN will be showcasing its brand new iMEGAPRO L series camera range which has been developed to be capable of recording video at a resolution of 1080P and offering streaming rates of 15FPS throughout the various models. iOmniscient is showing a live demo of its iQ-Smart City set of ana- lytics to IFSEC visitors. Visitors can see a demonstration of the world’s first ‘Face Recognition in a Crowd’ in a realistic and challenging busy city scenario. Education sessions dedicated to CCTV & Video Surveillance on offer at ISEC 2013 are to take place throughout the event. This include a speech on ‘CCTV Essentials’ from Simon Lambert
from Lambert & Associates on May 14, while on the same day, John Allen from RISCO group will discuss ‘Protecting the Utilities’. On May 15, Simon Gordon from Facewatch will speak in the Security Management Theatre on ‘Giving Your CCTV Teeth to Stop Crime’.
