The continuous momentum of technology in the security industry requires manufacturers to continually develop new solutions. The growing demands of installers and end users ensure that the best manufacturers market new products with increasingly improved technol- ogy. In addition, it is also essential to reduce production costs while maintaining the highest possible quality. This also applies to wireless systems, which are an increasingly popular alternative to the traditional transmission systems. Whilst many installers use traditional solutions as standard, more and


more are seeing the benefits and cost savings of wireless systems. This is due to the fact that these systems work well in situations where there is no possibility of using cable networks, and may be additions to existing installations. With recent developments in wireless technology, installers are realising that quality solutions can be achieved in many applications. One of the main changes with this type of device is improved resistance


to interference, and thus - the deterioration of image quality. Many of the drawbacks of wireless systems have now been eliminated. Continual user feedback to sales and technical departments have been used in the design of a new line of devices. The changes do not apply only to electronic solutions. Reduced size enclosures and using the best quality materials result in increased resistance to mechanical damage and adverse weather conditions. The new series of CAMSAT devices benefit from increased noise


immunity and also solve the problem of overlap with adjacent channels transmitted over radio. This phenomenon is most common when the required transmission range is very short. A new series of devices have very accurate inter-channel separation which can significantly improve the quality of the transmitted image and eliminate any interference. Also a standard directional receiving antennae was replaced with a smaller one to avoid this type of interference, the result of this are the new solu- tions dedicated for short distance transmission using TCO5807h/300 and CAM5816h/300. For a long time CAMSAT customers were also requesting a device


operating in point-to multipoint configuration. That`s why multi trans- mitters and receivers have been released and are proving to be a very popular solution in the market. The system operates in the licence free frequency range of 5.8GHz and has a maximum of 8 operating channels (an additional 8 available for customers outside the EU). The system allows you to send 4 video signals simultaneously. This innovative prod- uct reduces the number of wireless kits within a single install four times. CAMSAT`s outdoor IP HD unit – CDS-5IP is a wireless transmission


system designed to transmit audio/video and data in the 5GHz frequency band with a maximum power of 1W (30dbi). The device transmits signals from an IP camera with high resolution (up to 5Mpixels). Built-in dual antenna 5GHz MIMO 2 x 16dBi allows signal transmission as standard to a maximum of 2km and the possibility of using the fine-tuning func- tion of the antenna provides high trans- mission quality even at varying distances. Fully secure signal transmission is pro-


vided by using 64/128/152- bit code and a number of other safe- guards such as a transmission FIREWALL system. The soft- ware also allows for remote configura-


tion, precise setting of the access locks and separating cam- eras from the rest of the network by using routing. Unquestionably CAMSAT’s innovative product that stands out in


the European CCTV markets, is a digital wireless audio/video transmis- sion system, the CDS5021 (STR). Based on a previous offering from CAMSAT, the product has been enriched with an additional controller significantly improving its operation. The product was introduced in May 2012 and first presented at SECUREX - International Security Exhibition. Thanks to the additional driver the user can manually select the fre-


quency at which the device operates and disable the feedback between the transmitter and receiver. It is a kind of paradox which is the nega- tion of the function DFS (dynamic frequency search) theoretically required by the installers, characteristic for digital devices. The possibil- ity of channel selection and no emission of signal at the receiving end, on installs where there are multiple devices for wireless transmission of video allows you to eliminate potential interference between kits which could adversely affect the quality of the transmitted image. At the same time, to maximize the system`s performance in all conditions, it has been equipped with an additional watchdog facility to detect potential system malfunction. If any malfunctions lasting longer than 2 minutes are detected, the device is automatically restarted and normal device`s operation is restored. The clear advantages of the new features is the ability to set the


system in point-to-multipoint configuration, i.e. one transmitter and multiple receivers. This feature cannot be found in digital wireless video transmission devices, and certainly not in the open 5GHz band. Such facilities are particularly welcomed by TV camera operators who report live events. The video signal from the cameraman moving around the stage can be sent not only to the broadcast car, but also to multiple video screens which gives a possibility of event viewing to people located far away from the stage. This year marks 10 years of CAMSAT in the CCTV market. During this time the compa- ny has achieved a well-established position in the domestic market and in many other European markets in the area of wireless video and data transmission.
