New head at wick,
academy A NEW head teacher greeted pupils at St Augustine Acad- emy after the Easter break. Jason Feld- the
school’s vice principal for two years, has taken charge of the Oak- wood Road school. He replaces Peter Midwin-
ter, who is now the principal of the Sir Robert Woodard Academy, in Lancing, Sussex. Mr Feldwick has worked in
Kent for the past 13 years, and was assistant head at Swade- lands School, Lenham. Ofsted inspectors praised
the school at their last visit but were critical of teaching quality and the achievement of pupils, something Mr Feldwick plans to recify. He has forged a partnership
with leading school, Manor New a school in Texas to learn from their success. Mr Feldwick said: “We will educate the whole child so that they have the confidence to meet their dreams.” Describing St Augustine Academy as a “friendly, open and cosy community”, Mr Feldwick added: “We see the positive in our students.”
