Priefert Named Title Sponsor for Ranch Sorting National Championships
R
anch Sorting National Championships now has a title sponsor and a new name “Priefert Ranch Sorting National Championships”. Bill Priefert, CEO of Priefert Ranch Equipment, says “This sponsorship has very special meaning to our company.”
Over the last few years, Ranch Sorting National Championships has grown to hold events in almost every state. They have also developed partner-alliances with The American Quarter Horse Association, the Arabian Horse Association, the Pinto Horse Association of America, and the American Paint Horse Association to cross-promote and co-sanction many of these events. RSNC’s goal is to preserve the heritage and integrity of the ranching lifestyle while providing a family-oriented, competitive riding experience at the grassroots level.
Priefert Ranch Equipment has been an event sponsor with the Ranch Sorting National Championships since its launch in 2007. Now that RSNC and its over 18,000 members have taken the industry by storm, Priefert is strengthening the connection. Jeff Rash, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Priefert, commented, “We jumped on board with RSNC when it was formed. We saw the potential for growth, but had no idea that this organization would grow so quickly. We just knew that RSNC’s commitment to preserving the ranching lifestyle in such a family-friendly way was something that we wanted to support.”
Dave Wolfe, President of the RSNC said, “When I first approached the Priefert family about becoming a sponsor of RSNC we only had 900 members. I asked them to come on board mostly for the name recognition that RSNC would gain with the most respected ranch equipment company in the industry. They agreed, obviously not because of the exposure we could give back at that time, but specifically because of their commitment to families who enjoy horses and the western lifestyle. At that time I knew they were a company that shared the values of RSNC and one who our entire membership should get to know. Priefert not only manufactures an excellent product, but also is a family owned company that has become a signature of honesty and respect. Now, with 18,000+ RSNC members, as president of RSNC, I am honored to add their name as the title RSNC sponsor so they can help us lead the way in continuing to promote the fastest growing equine family sport in America.”

About Ranch Sorting National Championships: Ranch Sorting started years before fences, when cattle grazed on the open range. Cowboys from the surrounding ranches worked together to round up the cattle for branding or sale. After the cowboys circled the cattle in a herd, horseman from the various ranches would then slowly enter into the herd to sort out the desired cows, and ease the selected cow to the outskirts of the herd. Today this method has been made into a competitive sport called Ranch Sorting, which takes place in two 60 foot corrals connected with a 12 foot open gate. Cattle are placed in one corral and two contestants sort cattle in numerical order through the gate into the other corral. The team with the shortest sort time wins. It is the mission of RSNC to lead the industry in developing and improving the sport of Ranch Sorting through affordability and a fair rating system. For more information, visit
