In the shop they have a J-22, which is having its bulkheads retabbed and a Catalina 320 is being re-gel coated.

They just sent out a Beneteau 420, which received new rudder bearings. They also painted a 23 foot Ensign with Alexseal. Like most of the yards up and down the coast, they have had a lot of small repair jobs amongst their storage customers which kept them busy all winter long and will continue to do so through the spring.

Six River Marine in North Yarmouth is nearing completion on a new 29 foot powerboat. They have completed almost all the work down below and just need to fi nish up the fi nal touches. They have also completed the windshield. They will do the cork decking next, which is coming from Hewes & Company of Blue Hill. They are also waiting for an arch and bow rail which

is being fabricated by Nautilus Marine in Trenton. She will be powered with twin 225 horsepower ETEC outboards. She will be done this summer.

Also being worked on, is a 35 foot cruiser built by Herb Baum. They have re- installed her sliding glass windows and are now working on painting her deck and hull, putting back down her hardware and putting in her garboard planks.

They store several other boats and these will just get the usual annual maintenance.

Chip Johnson in Harpswell has a 35

foot Duffy in the shop. Due to a wet core she has had a lot of her balsa core replaced in her shelter. Next year they will work on her trunk cabin, which has the same problem. They have also removed her engine, which was a Volvo 61A which is 26 years old. This is being replaced and means that they put in new boxes, new thru-hull fi ttings, did some rewiring, built a new engine box, and added a new hauling patch.

Before this project they worked on a Publisher Editor-in-Chief

A 22 foot Webco, which had sunk last fall, was in for repairs. She was repowered with a four-cylinder 135 horsepower Mer- cruiser inboard. They also redid the shaft and skeg area which had been damaged. Once the engine was in place the owner did the rest.
