Security for the mid-market

Web application protection for organisations

AlienVault is demonstrating its Virtual Appliance of the AV-USM platform. The company decided to provide a virtual appliance to its customers in order to address an underserved segment of the market – the mid-market. The enterprise has a wide range of security tools available to it and a bigger budget than smaller companies, however all companies are vulnerable to attacks. AlienVault wanted to make sure it could provide for these smaller companies and ensure they are also protected from attacks and hence have launched the virtual appliance, making it more affordable and accessible to these mid-market companies.

Recent studies confirm that attackers are increasingly targeting web applications to breach the security defences of organisations. With QualysGuard WAS 3.0, organisations can discover and catalogue web applications on a global scale, then identify and remediate web applications vulnerabilities accurately and cost- effectively. QualysGuard WAS 3.0 provides malware detection for websites, using advanced behavioural analysis to identify even zero-day malware that may infect users. The service proactively scans websites for malware, providing automated alerts and in-depth reporting to enable prompt identification and resolution of vulnerabilities. Additionally, 3.0 introduces

advanced scanning configurations and reporting enhancements including a report creation wizard and scorecard reports based on asset groups or tags, making it easy for users to create and customise reports for the audience they are targeting.

Stop Zero-Day Application Exploits and Data Exfiltration

Advanced information-stealing malware enables APTs and targeted attacks on enterprises. The main infection vectors are exploitation of application vulnerabilities, and social engineering schemes that result in direct malware installation. Trusteer Apex introduces a new approach to stop zero-day application exploits and data exfiltration: Stateful Application Control. By analysing the Application State (what the application is doing and why it is doing it) Trusteer Apex can automatically and accurately determine if an application action is legitimate or malicious. Trusteer’s Stateful Application Control enables automated enterprise malware protection that maximises security while simplifying deployment and minimising management overhead.
