Residents of Woodlands View in Polperro who say they are tired of waiting for Cornwall Council to improve their neglected play area, have taken matters into their own hands.


Working together with Cornwall Councillor for West Looe and Lansallos Edwina Hannaford, resident Michaela Powell is drawing up a project plan, including gaining a quotation for a new access and steps down to the lower level, and she intends to apply for grant funding.


She hopes to do a residents’ survey to gain support for the project.


‘There are very few places for children to play on Woodlands View – most gardens are too steep and the only alternative is the road, which is not ideal,’ said Michaela.


Tenants forum representative Sue Libby said that she thanked Edwina and Michaela for taking up the challenge of making the area safe and accessible for children to play in again.
