Congratulations to Fran Collings (Year 11) who has been selected to represent the Great Britain Under-17 Water Polo team during the Easter holidays.


She will be competing in Barcelona and we wish her all the best for this and future selection.


Under-18


The Under-18 Netball Team has enjoyed a short but successful season. Having won matches against Burgess Hill, Cranbrook School, Walthamstow Hall and Ardingly, the team played exceptionally well at the Sussex


Independent Schools' Tournament at Roedean. They came third in their section and gave an exceptional performance against Hurst to draw the game 6-6. In the play-off game for fifth overall, the team won convincingly 12-6 against Bede’s. This was the final tournament for the Year 13 girls, who have been a pleasure for the department to coach since Year 7. They have been an inspiration to students lower down the school and set an example to all with their dedication and enthusiasm. A special mention must go to Becky Lennon who has been a fantastic captain. She has been encouraging at all times and her expertise has been invaluable to the team.


Under-16


Fencing certificates have been awarded to Katie Higgins, Amy Gallagher, Felicity Reynolds, Zaveri Shah-Smith, Emily Cantwell-Kelly, Tara Keoshgerian and Anna Hollis. They have each gained their Level 1 Epee award and will start to enter competitions next term.

held on Wednesday March 13th, and from this a successful event was organised and enjoyed by all. At the next meeting the girls will start to plan the Interhouse Athletics Event on Saturday 22nd June.

In spite of the weather being against us, the Under- 16 Netball Squad has had an excellent season with some resounding wins against Cranbrook, Walthamstow Hall, Benenden and Ardingly. They have braved the weather with enormous resilience, training with snow falling at least three times -- not to mention freezing temperatures and the odd evening playing into near darkness! Their season was rounded off with fourth place at the recent SISNA (Sussex International Schools Netball Association) tournament, finishing above Eastbourne, Bede’s and Lancing; being narrowly beaten by Brighton College and Hurstpierpoint College.
