COURSE DESCRIPTION This is a one year full time course leading to a professional qualification for those wishing for a career in the beauty industry. The diploma comprises of an Aesthetic Treatment course and Body Therapy Diploma course. These Diplomas are complemented with other additional/ optional courses (Electrolysis, Reflexology, Anatomy, Physiology, Massage, Aromatherapy, Food & Nutrition, Indian Head Massage). The programme consists of intensive practical and theoretical training in the various aspects of the profession.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Applicants must have completed the Leaving Certificate and must have obtained at least Grade D (Ordinary Level) in five subjects, including a science subject, preferably biology.

COURSE CERTIFICATION Mullingar Community College provides training and education for CIBTAC, Confederation of International Beauty Therapy And Cosmetology (
www.cibtac.com), one of the worlds foremost international qualifications. CIBTAC provides a rigid set of rules, governing the highest standards of teaching, equipment and examinations.
From this year, we will also provide FETAC certification, thus allowing graduates to progress to third level directly from this course.
PROGRESSION On successful completion of the Diploma in Aesthetic Treatments and Body Therapy Diploma, students are encouraged to progress further by studying an additional CIBTAC qualification in year two. Graduates can choose to work as qualified Facial and Body Therapists. Students who are awarded their Diplomas may join the Irish Beauty Professionals Association (IBPA).
