£ In Texas, where the Centers for Disease Control said flu activity remained “widespread” last month, Pat Dykes, the bus terminal secretary at Houston Independent School District, came up with a creative way to combat the spread of germs. Sykes heard about a bus driver shortage in nearby Spring Branch ISD due to the flu, and in an effort to prevent this in her district, she handed out flu-safety tips tied to bottles of hand sanitizer to 1,100 bus drivers and attendants.
