Via LinkedIn: “Caring for Student Psyches” Our school district has had

good security protocol and safety measures already in place. After these recent events, there has been a re-doubling of awareness and measures to re-focus diligence for keeping a safe and secure environment on bus or anywhere on school grounds. When the question about abduction and violence came up in comments by an 11-year-old on bus, I reassured him that nothing like that would ever happen on our bus, and I will always make sure that my bus is a sanctuary against violence, hostility and stupidity. As far as that goes, I keep an eye out for anything unusual wherever I take these children. Bus driving isn’t just my job, it’s my calling.

12 School Transportation News March 2013

In the 2013 Buyer’s Guide, an incorrect contact was listed for the New Mexico Department of Education. The state director of student transportation continues to be Antonio Ortiz. Also in the same issue, school bus seat and restraint systems manufacturer Syntec Seating Solutions was incorrectly listed in the “Components and Service Suppliers” section. STN regrets these errors.
