Bradford’s reputation for fantastic curries is already well established: it’s once again been named Curry Capital of Britain.
There are over 200 restaurants serving curries of one sort or another, specialising in Kashmiri, Moghul, Balti, Punjabi and Tandoori cooking.
Perhaps more surprisingly, did you know you can also eat caviar and other Baltic delights in Yorkshire’s only Russian restaurant?
Along the World Mile stretching north from the city centre you’ll find plenty of exotic choices from around the world including Afro Caribbean, Chinese and South Asian food.
The Michelin starred Box Tree in Ilkley serves outstanding classical French cuisine and just round the corner is another famous establishment – Betty’s Café Tea Rooms. This is a Yorkshire institution, where you can try a fat rascal with a wide choice of different coffees and teas. Don’t leave Ilkley without buying some of Lishman’s famous Yorkshire sausages!
In and around Bradford you’ll find a plentiful selection of pubs, many serving real local ales such as those brewed at Saltaire Brewery. The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway’s Beer and Music Weekend takes place in October and is a great chance to sample new local beers.

If you fancy doing your own cooking, call into the award-winning Keelham Farm Shop where you can pick up local specialities like Denholme Gate Honey and food from over 400 Yorkshire farmers and producers.
Don’t miss Bradford’s latest food festival, the World Curry Festival (21st – 23rd June), a three-day celebration of the best of Bradford’s Asian cuisine.
