Many traditional favourites return in 2013 including the hugely popular Chester Races, the much-loved Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, with its annual display of all things fast on land, water and in the air.


There are plenty of outdoor events throughout Cheshire including Rock and Pop Concerts at Delamere Forest and Chester Racecourse, open-air theatre in Chester’s Grosvenor Park and Gawsworth Hall near Macclesfield, as well as the perennial floral delights of the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park, while Creamfields near Warrington brings us Britain’s biggest techno dance festival.


Chester’s fiesta of festivals includes Music, Literature and Folk.


The year ends with a spectacular line- up of Christmas Lights switch-ons and seasonal entertainment across Cheshire with major events taking place in Chester, Macclesfield and Warrington.


New for 2013 are the Chester Mystery Plays dating from the Middle Ages that are being performed inside Chester Cathedral for the first time in their 700 year history.
