PTPA Goes Pink A M A R I L L O , T E X A S
PTPA Goes Pink, again! Did they ever! Four saddles, 16 buckles and other prizes brought in competitors from South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado and other states to the Texas Panhandle. When the dust cleared, the cattle put away and the timer was finally silent, 692 teams had competed for the prize money and various awards.
Class winners awarded with Buckles were: Youth - Savannah Jo Dawes/ Blaine Ellis (21 Teams), All Levels – Robbie Salzbrenner/Ray Lermon (49 Teams), #13 – Robbie Salzbrenner/Cassie Salzbrenner (58 Teams), #12 All Draw – Roger Shorb /Terry Brooks (128 Teams), #10 – Pete Gibbs/Bob McPherson (78 Teams) (pic 038 no presenter), #11-2 - Christy Pritchett/ Jim Bridwell (98 Teams), #8 – Stacey Horton/Jim Bridwell (102 Teams), #6 – Billy Barnes/ Cassie Salzbrenner (86 Teams), #4 – Luke Horton/Roberto Cruz (39 Teams).
Saddle Winners were awarded by accumulating the most points in specific classes: Open Saddle (6 and up) – Robbie Salzbrenner of White
Deer, TX (All Levels, #13, #11-2 and #12 All Draw); Novice Saddle (4-5) – Ricky Day ( #8, #10, #11-2 and #12 All Draw); Amateur Saddle (3) - Terry
Brooks of Blanchard, OK (#6, #8, #11-2 and #12 All Draw); Beginner Saddle (1-2) – Christy Pritchett of Pampa, TX (#4, #6, #11-2 and #12 All Draw).
AQHA Class Winners: Youth - Echo Rudd on Swinging Bell and Josh Schmitt on MS Desi Lu Nifty Jet; Amateur – Terry Brooks on HH Reygin and Cathy Reist-Herrmann on Short Bred Dually.
Competitors that were “One Out of the Money” were awarded a Pink bucket with other miscellaneous gifts inside. The Best Dressed Pink Horse award was given to Emily Karcher and the “Drove the Farthest” Award was given to Shawn and Leah Hochhalter. PTPA will be donating show proceeds to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, dedicated to education and research about causes, treatment and the search for the cure of breast cancer.
