Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Scottish Highlands, Eilertsen Dental Care is an exclusively private practice. The four-surgery facility, which opened in Inverness in 2009, is purpose built to afford the ultimate in contemporary design, comfort and cleanliness for patients.
The practice is based on all aspects of reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry including dental implants, many of which are placed for referring dentists who are encouraged to restore their own cases.
The practice is equipped to the highest standards including its own CBCT scanner enabling referring dentists to scrutinise and plan cases before treatment commences. ‘Expertease’ software is available for virtual placement and stent construction, thereby removing the guesswork from more challenging implant cases.

has been providing excellence in private dentistry in the Highlands for over 30 years. Dr Margaret Eilertsen adds her skills to the team in conjunction with Dr Mark Skinner, who recently completed his Diploma in implantology at the University of Bristol. Jackie Thain is the practice receptionist who has been with the Eilertsens for more than 30 years.
Hygienist Louise Shenfield, head nurse Lindsey Munro and practice manager Diane Patience are long standing team members. Qualified nurse Sophie Polworth and Francesca Bain, who will be qualified in 2013, complete the team. Dr Eilertsen said “I am very proud to lead such a dedicated and caring team. Glasgow Orthodontics is now in its eighth year and flourishing, with over 250 referrals per month and new treatment modalities on offer, particularly aimed at avoiding extractions for the patients (and dentists!) New developments include the use of self-ligating bracket systems, like Damon, which can not only reduce the need for extractions, but helps create a beautiful wide arc to the dental arches.
Also on offer is the Harmony Lingual appliance which uses CAD/CAM technology to design and manufacture their lingual brackets; fully customised to meet the occlusal/aesthetic needs of the patient and orthodontist.
Its city centre location is ideally
suited to patients/practices on either side of the river, and there is no waiting list.
The practice maintains the system of same-operator- per-patient as gold standard for patient continuity and its orthodontic therapists are supervised at all times.
As always, the practice strives to offer adjunctive treatment for colleagues in general practice, such as increasing a space for an implant or uprighting a pontic for a bridge.
