A Respected Qualification UCS is a joint venture between the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex. All of the degrees available are jointly validated by the two Universities, and upon completion of your studies you will receive a jointly awarded degree. The two validating Universities work closely with UCS to assure the quality and standards of all the degree courses on offer.


Support for International Students


At UCS you will find yourself immersed in British culture but studying with students from all over the world. UCS has a dedicated International Student Support Officer who supports international students before, during and after their time studying at UCS. Students can benefit from: immigration information and guidance, English language and study skills advice, a cultural adjustment service, a mentor scheme for new arrivals, organised trips and events and general advice, guidance and counselling.

Tuition fees for full-time postgraduate overseas fee payers for the academic year 2013-2014 are: • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) 9,900 GBP (£)


• Class-room based Masters programme 9,000 GBP (£)


• Laboratory-based Masters programme 10,500 GBP (£)


Scholarships for Overseas Fee Payers


UCS offers an early payment scholarship of £500 to all full-time undergraduate and postgraduate international students who pay their yearly tuition fee in full by 30 September, for courses with a September start date or 31 January for courses with a January start date.

Stuart Bannerman, Director of International


The team at UCS is growing and we are delighted that Stuart Bannerman has joined us as Director of International. Stuart has been seconded to UCS from the University of Essex for two years.


In his role, Stuart will take responsibility for the advancement of the international agenda at UCS, working closely with other Directors and the Heads of School to deliver UCS's aims in regard to internationalisation of the curriculum, distance learning and student recruitment. This will include developing worldwide initiatives and partnerships.


As an ‘intrapreneur’ Stuart has been responsible for ground breaking operations and academic product. Having taught at the universities of St Andrews and Glasgow, he launched the first International Study Centre at Queen Margaret University in 1998 introducing Graduate Diplomas for the first time as a pre-masters award for international students. He was Head of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) and Director of the Centre for Applied Language Studies at the University of Dundee where he worked on the Wanli Group project in Ningbo, a key player in the education sector in China.


Having set up and run the highly successful International Academy at the University of Essex, Stuart Bannerman now has a new challenge at partner institution UCS.
