‘Dr. Robert’ by Lee Miller LFW SS13 Luxury Collection


These days LFW is more about who wore what off the catwalk and who’s spotted front row than the actual fashion. Thankfully Lee Miller’s SS13 show was all fashion darrrling! Well, bar a few well known faces.


Taking place at Mayfair’s University Women’s Club, the building’s history and opulence was in stark contrast to the contemporary loungewear collection that walked its halls.


The collection, which consisted of classic, well-tailored pieces in natural colours, with the exception of injections of black and red, were married with accents/ pops of brights and pastels in the luxurious leather accessories.


Elements of the Ciao Manhattan/ Edie Sedgwick inspiration could be


found in the 70’s-esque silhouettes; the masculine shirtdress, short shorts, squared necklines and my HOT pick the heather grey long sleeve jersey minidress that screamed elegant sportswear.


What really dazzled were the accessories; weekender bags, oversize clutches, totes, coin purses and mini satchels worn as necklaces that made the statement; we are the heartbeat, the soul of this collection.


Lee Miller has a magical talent, for in his collection the accessories became the clothing and the clothing became the understated compliment. While they all work well individually when pieced together the result is irresistible! • Words Enam G Images Laura Cloutman
