HM: We also love the artwork for the Indigenous Sound Waves album cover, who’s behind it?
Sarina: A Japanese Designer called Justin Sereni who’s website is
DustyLabyrinth.com. He really listened to what we wanted fusing nature and music and the outcome was this cool kaleidoscope of colour and hand drawn art for Indigenous Soundwaves.
HM: Let’s talk style, Sarina you’re a designer too right, so are you in charge of the band’s look? Mohammed are you allowed any input? Lol
Sarina: Haha yeah I am a designer and have a slight :) influence on Native Sun visually. I do all of Native Sun’s graphic flyers, fun marketing ideas like our handmade herbal tea album tickets and our clothing. I have customized and made garments for our music videos and our live album launch. My own fashion label is called www.
wildsuga.com and uses recycled fashion as its main concept. I started in 2008 and in between music I sell handmade accessories, lifestyle gifts and clothing.
HM: Loving Mohammed’s oversize bow tie in the Legacy video by the way. How/ where can we get one?
Sarina: Native Sun will be collaborating with Wildsuga on those African print bow ties for the new year in our merchandise shop:
http://nativesun.bigcartel.com/ so please pop back and grab one.
HM: To wrap up what for you makes living in London so HOT?
Sarina: London is seductive with its energy, never sleeps and is full of crazy creative things to do all day
everyday....So it’s HOT because it doesn’t stop...
