Boat Yard News Continued from Page 15.

Hull #4 of the Alerion has her backbone done and they are ready to begin planking. This boat was built on spec and is available to anyone interested. A new mast built of Sitka spruce was done for a 6 meter. They also build all of the custom hardware in-house.

Even though we wrote up Brooklin

Boat Yard in Brooklin two issues ago we need to do an update. The 70 foot sailboat SONNY is in the shop being redone for her new owner. The former owner of this boat returned and once an exact duplicate built. They have already started to set up the new boat and she is scheduled to be overboard 1 August. To help with this project Front Street shipyard in Belfast will be building the deck. They will also put down the teak and hardware.

They also have just received orders for two 47 foot sailboat designed by Brooklin Boat Yard. Jim Taylor has modifi ed the keel, rudder and rig and Brooklin Boat Yard has modifi ed the cockpit. Both of these boats are exactly the same except one will have a roller furling boom. They already have completed hull #1 and will start work on hull #2 soon. They also have the fi rst cockpit done. These boats of both scheduled to be launched early next summer.
