She is a true asset to the trail riders in Kentucky and a conscientious person when it comes to preserving and promoting trail riding. public lands, which include planting about 100,000 trees, shrubs and other native plants, as well as building and maintaining approximately 1,500 miles of trails.
GreenFest Helps Raise Funds to Reopen Equestrian Trails in Texas
Members of the Greenbelt Alliance of Denton County, together with the Texas
Parks and Wildlife and the City of Denton hosted GreenFest on September 29 at FM 455 Greenbelt Park. Fun activities to draw in public participation included kayaking, three climbing walls, a live reptile display, birds of prey from the Blackland Prairie Rap- tor Rehabilitation Center, Backyard Bass fi shing, pony rides, a living history display featuring storytelling and craſt smen of the Cross Timbers Region, archery and the Texas Game Warden Trailer display. Other exhibits and activities were an archeological dig, a dinosaur dig, bouncy houses, rides on the Wells Fargo Stagecoach and a display by Carefl ite which included the equestrian rescue unit. Live music was also featured. An entry fee of $5 per person in advance was charged or $7 at the gate and funds
raised were dedicated to the reopening of the equestrian trail between Highways 428 and 455, restoration of the Greenbelt restrooms, installation of a planned wetland view- ing deck and trail and support of the Greenbelt Alliance. Included with the entry fee was a membership in the Greenbelt Alliance and its Lake Ray Roberts Equestrian Trail Association. T e Greenbelt Alliance has given its full support to this new commit ee which is dedicated to the restoration of the equestrian trail and other future projects benefi t ing equestrians.
