FRIENDS OF SOUND HORSES Wow! You do such a fantastic job with Trail

Blazer. T ank you so much for the article on FOSH’s new Gaited Distance program in the September issue. We so appreciate the support! Cris Van Horn, Oklahoma Managing Editor, Sound Advocate

T ank YOU and your team for all you do to support sound horses!

BITS & BIT ING I really enjoyed the article on bits in the

last issue (“Revolutionizing the World of Bits & Bit ing,” October Trail Blazer). I have never thought I understood them well so have pri- marily used hackamores. But the “before” and “after” photos are worth a thousand words! T ank you for expanding my awareness of this oſt en misunderstood topic. Julie Suhr, California

BURNING QUESTIONS One of my favorite features at Trail Blazer is

“Burning Questions,” in which experts answer real questions from readers. I am impressed with the quality of questions that relate to a wide range of trail riders and even more with the quality of the experts and their answers. I can tell that your panel really understands trail riding on a personal level and is not just plug- ging in cookie-cut er answers. I hope you will continue this series in the future, as it is very educational. Donald Visick, New Jersey

You can count on it! Be sure to watch our Facebook page for a chance to submit your questions.

SADDLE-FIT SUMMIT Aſt er devouring the fi rst two case studies in

your saddle-fi t series, I have to say that the way this is presented and the level of information that the clinicians give back is heads above any other format I have seen. Nothing says it bet er

than real comments on real photos of real trail horses. Are you going to continue this series in the future, and if so, how does one submit one’s horse for consideration? Kathy Rosen, Colorado

Yes, we are going to continue this format in 2013. Submit your photos and your horse’s history to editor@trailblazermagazine.us for consideration.

“HORSES ARE AMAZING ANGELS” I was moved to tears when I read the beau-

tiful tribute (“Overcoming Breast Cancer,” October Trail Blazer) you gave to all these brave ladies who have horses in their lives who helped them through this rough time. My sister was diagnosed with this disease years ago and given at most a year to live. She lived seven more years, and the love between herself and her horse Cocoa is what got her way beyond what the doctors told her. Every day she found the strength to go out and feed and brush her horse, even though others would off er to do the job. I would watch her hug her horse and her horse hug her back. T ere was such a bond and such love, and it pulled her through days and weeks when I didn’t know how she kept going. She passed away six months ago, and I miss her so much, but I treasure my memories of her. She would get a big smile on her face when Cocoa came running up when she called. She went for her last trail ride three days before she passed on. Horses are amazing angels, and I thank God my sister had Cocoa to make her smile and laugh. Christine Sprague, Florida
