Vital funds for furry friends

CAMBORNE Parish Church had a congregation of a very different sort when local dogs and their owners gath- ered to help raise funds for animal care in Cornwall. Organised by Dorothy Fisher of the town’s branch of the RSPCA, the annual bazaar was also the occasion for the dogs and their own- ers, who took part in a spon- sored walk earlier in the year, to be presented with trophies, rosettes and bis- cuits for their fundraising efforts by retired RSPCA in- spector Les Sutton. The bazaar, which fea- tured a variety of stalls, raised £350 which was added to the £800 from the spon- sored walk.

Mrs Fisher explained that the money would be shared between the RSPCA Centre at St Columb and other ser- vices such as helping to- wards the vets’ bills of the needy.
