For the past five and a half years, student transporters in


the Houston area and beyond have benefitted from the lead- ership and expertise of Charley Kennington and his team at Innovative Transportation Solutions, the student transporta- tion division of the Region 4 Education Service Center. But while he has one of the most recognizable faces na-


tionwide in student transportation circles, Kennington is a quiet man, not one prone to cacophonous self-promotion. He sets an example by championing the utmost in child safety, as seen in the hands-on NHTSA Child Passenger Safety Restraint Systems on School Buses seminar he presents at na- tional and state conferences. He also has the ability to be a consensus builder and consummate teammate on whatever project he’s a part of. For these and many other reasons, School Transporta-
