Jack to focus on running

JACK Green, who competed at the Olympic Games in the 400 metres hurdles and 400 metres relay, has dropped out of uni- versity to concentrate on his running. Jack, who was born in Snod-

land, was studying at Bath University. He said he would- continue to live in Bath so he still had the same coach and could train with the same group of athletes. He said: “As an athlete we

don’t get to enjoy the games like the public. We have to concentrate on what we are doing. “I did not watch any of the events, as I was taking part until the second to last day.” Jack said he was “hugely dis- appointed” with his perform- ance in the hurdles (he hit the third fence) but the relay was

really good, and he hopes he has secured a place in the fu- ture. The team missed a bronze medal by .01 of a second. Jack is looking forward to the

World Championships in Moscow next year and also the European Under 23s champi- onships.
