A winter warmer at Cafe Stalker

A

S THE cold winter weather draws in, we tend to seek out wholesome and heart-warming food – and what could be better than a home-made pie!

Castle Stalker Cafe is looking forward to welcoming you in this winter by offering traditional pies, as part of its laid-back lunch- es.

Cafe owner Nicola Meekin said: ‘The simple pie is the mainstay of the our specials menu. ‘Prepared from scratch and using the best of Scottish produce, we’ve come up       - tish beef, chanterelle and ale; free-range chicken, leek and thyme; Kingairloch Veni- son, chestnut mushroom and red wine

and local wild mushroom and asparagus.’ But with a picture-postcard view of the fa- mous Appin castle, a relaxed atmosphere and a gift shop and deli, there is more to the cafe than just good food.   else.

And there are new ranges for Christmas: limited edition jewellery from Carrie Elspeth, a huge selection of Scottish books, ladies’ coats and Organic Zoo children’s clothing. Also, brand new this autumn is a lovely range of hand-made cutlery gift sets, perfect for relatives at Christmas, weddings or Christen- ings.

Or come and visit the deli and sample Scottish smoked salmon, artisan cheeses, smoked meats, jams, chutneys and exclusive Oban chocolates. New to the cafe this season is Scottish craft keg beer on tap from Williams Bros Brewery.

So, whether you want a day away, or just somewhere to shelter from the weather, there’s nowhere better than Castle Stalker Cafe, open Thursday to Sunday, 10am – 4pm through November and December.
