A CAR smashed through the door and front window of a fish and chip shop minutes after a crowd of customers had been served and left. The brickwork under the win-
dow of Andrews Fish Bar, in Snodland High Street, was knocked into the inside of the shop and the structure of the building was severely damaged. Katerina Nicolettos, who owns
the shop with her sister Chrys- talla and theirmother, Stella, said the accident happened at 9.30pm on a Friday. “We had just had a really busy period and it was so lucky there were no customers in the shop and nobody was walking along the pavement outside,” she

shop they can be proud of,” said Katerina. Her father, Andrew, bought the shop in 1986. He died in 2006.

THE annual Bluebell Wood charity walk in Upper Halling raised £1,444 for the Eve Ap- peal, which supports research at University College, London, into gynaecological can- cers . Pat Lawry, of Meadow Crescent, Upper Halling, organises the walk in memory of his wife, Greta, who died of ovarian cancer and has raised £11,500 since he started. He said: “About 40 people enjoyed the
walk although it was a really soggy day. I did- n’t expect we would get so many walkers and I would like to thank them, the sponsors and all those who gave a donation.”
