Blue Bird Corp. named John Roselli the

new director of alternative fuels in late June. A former new bus sales manager at Blue Bird’s California dealer A-Z Bus Sales Inc., Roselli was a key leader in developing the flourishing alternative fuel market in Califor- nia, said Blue Bird. Now, he is working closely with dealers to promote the Blue Bird pro- pane-autogas and CNG product lines. Hickory Springs Manufacturing Co.,

parent company of Triad Fabco, hired John Mayo as its new general counsel to replace Blake Trimble, who retired at the end of June. Mayo previously worked for other manufacturing companies including Coltec Industries, Goodrich Corporation and Enpro Industries. Charles Bednar announced his retire-

ment, ending a 41-year career in school transportation, effective Aug. 31. Bednar started as a school bus driver for Taylor Bus Service, one of the first contractors in southern California, rising to vice presi- dent of that firm. After 20 years in the contract industry, he moved to the pub- lic sector and spent the past 17 years as transportation

supervisor for Corona-

Norco (Calif.) Unified School District. Te Central New York Association for

Pupil Transportation named First Student Service Manager Matt Gould of Syracuse the 2012 Technician of the Year. Gould, who has been a technician with the company since 2005, received the award during a ceremony June 13 in Syracuse. Chris Darling retired at the end of June

from Fort Dodge Community School Dis- trict in Iowa after 21 years with the district, the past eight as director of operations. Dar- ling implemented a new bus driver training program and installed the first video cam- eras designed for school buses. As a member of the School Bus Maintenance and Inspec- tion Advisory Council, he helped develop the school bus maintenance and inspection manual in 2000 that is still in use. He also served as board member of the Iowa Pupil Transportation Association. Pamela K. Layral, training supervisor at

Student Transportation of America in River- side, Calif., successfully completed the NAPT Special Needs Transportation (SNT) Train- ing Program. She is the 29th person in the country to achieve this recognition.
