Dear ShowBiz, I saw the article about John Quirk’s

Dear ShowBiz, WOW, we will all miss Artie

passing. That kind of information is why I love ShowBiz and iJump Sports. I live way out in the country in Kansas and do the best I can showing my hunter from here. My connection with the horse business is usually media and ShowBiz always reaches my mail box about the time I am feeling isolated. Thanks you so much for the articles about the people. Reading about Tracy Baer and Mike Neilsen brought back memories of my childhood in California. Thank you!!

Hawkins as a judge, some of my best wins came with him as the judge. He is certainly one of the best judges around and a gentle- man to boot. His graciousness will never be forgotten by me, a young professional with limited funds doing the best I could. He never failed to say hello with a smile and encourage me when things went wrong. He is going to be missed!!

Dear ShowBiz, Please don’t use my name but I

thought I would tell you as a judge how much I love the magazine. I am from the east coast but judge in Cali- fornia quite a lot. This magazine is a way for me to enjoy throughout the year the growth and achievements of the people I occasionally judge. I only see most of them in the ring and the only way I can see how they progress over the years is to follow ShowBiz. Thank you and be sure I am still on your subscription list

went wrong. Thoroughbreds used to be all that we had to ride and I miss them. I currently own both a TH and a warmblood and love them both..however, my heart is with the race horse. I worked at Santa Anita and Bay Meadows decades ago and once a thor- oughbred is in your life it stays in your blood. Glad to hear there was a way to save the equine stars.

Dear ShowBiz, Loved the story about the movie “Luck” and the bad luck that could have impacted a bunch of thoroughbreds when everything

zine for me are the pages that barns put in about their wins. The shows are so big that I don’t always know who is winning what and I read every page of the barn ads. When I see someone I may know that won some- thing really good, or my little neighbor who just had a Sonoma Valley Farms page, the first thing I do is call them or hit Facebook to connect with them. I guess I could always just Google who wins but it is really nice to see their pictures and prizes. I am just starting to jump at my lesson barn here in the bay area and don’t go to many shows but I really want to know what’s happening up here and you keep me up to date. Thank you.
