Christopher Price/1000

Do you have other artists in your family? Yes. My wife Angelique Moselle Price and our son Josiathe are the best artists I know and inspire me daily with the continued realization of their visions.

Would you say you had a time of day or night where you have more creative energy than others? I really like to shoot after 9:00 at night. Our models usually show up between 6 and 7, head into the studio with Angelique to get styled and become comfortable in our setting. I hang out with our son and then read him to sleep. By the time I get into the studio and start customizing the lighting to our specific theme for the evening, they are ready and we can get busy making beautiful and unique images.

How would you describe the ambiance of your studio? Since our studio is in our home, it is quite intimate. Music is extremely important to our process so there is always something interesting and motivating playing in the background. It can be very brightly lit and sterile or very dark and atmospheric.

As an artist, how would you define success?

Success is the ability to do what we love as a primary source of supporting our family financially.

Finish this sentence. People should support art because art is and always has been a catalyst for change by inspiring and challenging people to feel. Photography specifically shares every corner of the globe to even the most homebound people. It can unabashedly portray the horrors of war, starvation, struggle, tears and pain while at the same time conveying the joys, triumphs and mysteries of life and the wonders of the world. Art has been crucial in the evolution of man’s growth. Science and technological advancements have always been fueled by dreams and art can be the closest thing to pure dream realization. Our photography is a process of instantly capturing that realization in its purest form.

Do you think the internet is crucial to the success of artists today? Absolutely. I think that this question follows the last in stride. The internet is the most effective way to share our vision with everyone else on the planet with an internet connection. We can attract others to purchase our work that would otherwise never have had a chance to interact with us.
