Park Quest 2012 For the fi fth year, the Maryland
Park Service is sponsoring a park-hopping challenge called Park Quest. In the challenge, 1,000 teams will have free access to 23 featured sites where they will participate in activities such as horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, let- terboxing, orienteering, biking and scavenger hunts.
Each team consists of at least one adult and one child (16 years or younger) and can be up to 10 people. Teams must complete 10 of the 23 activities from May 26 to September 3 and are then eligible to compete in the Park Quest Rendezvous on September 29 at the Pickall Area of Patapsco Valley State Park in Howard County. Gras king and queen and two sound trucks playing hot Zydeco tunes as they trotted down Con- stitution Avenue! It has been more than a decade since the Zydeco Cowboyz & Cowgirlz were organized with the purpose of promoting the rich culture of the Black, French- speaking Creole people of southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas through Zydeco music and horsemanship. T e club has participated in the parade for most of the last 10 years.

Blossoms in Washington, DC. T e club was well represented in the parade with more than 25 riders, two horse-drawn wagons, a Mardi
proud to participate in two events this spring. On March 24, riders and crew traveled to Ce- darville State Forest in Brandywine for a 30- mile walking trail ride and picnic. T e fol- lowing weekend, the team traveled to the Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area to participate in the 12.5-mile train- ing ride with the Chesapeake Trail Riding Club. Horses and humans alike camped out the night before the ride. T e team, based in Charles County, is
proud to include riders and crew members of all ages, with and without special needs.
T e Unifi ed Trail Team was created to provide riders of all ages and ability levels the opportu- nity to work as a team, support each other and explor e r iding outside the area.
