The Pune Growth Story-A Report Part II
1. Objective of the study GIREM carried out this study in order to identify the urban issues faced by the city dwellers and visitors, which will help to make learned decisions by the city stake holders.
2. Methodology i. Survey
The survey was done using ORMs [Online Research Methodologies].
An ad was placed in popular social media to targeting to attract the responders from the city & visitors of Pune and those who are connected to the city. Direct mailers were sent the target sample.
The survey was done for 27 days, starting from 15 March 2012 and concluded on 10 April 2012.
ii. Sample Profile Sample size: 2142
Targets: the targets were the citizen & visitors of Pune and those who are connected to the city.
Of the total 2142 responders 65% were residents of Pune, and stays within the city, 13% are also residents of Pune but stays in outskirts/suburbs. 6% of them are originally from Pune & now migrated out and 16% are visitors who visit regularly for different reasons.
About 90% of the responders were male and 10% were female.
44% of them were private employees, 23% of were from business community and 21 % were from student community, 5% were government employees and 8% others.
The responders represented various age groups. A majority of them (25%) were from the age group between 26 & 30 years, 21% were from the age group of 21-25 years, 15% were below 20 years of age, 7% were above 51years, 11% of them were from the age group of 31-35 years, 16 % were between 36-45 years and 4% from the age group between 46 & 50 years.
