Seafood Info from the Net to the Web C


onsumers and businesses that want to learn more about maintain- ing seafood quality and sustainability can log on to their computers or other personal electronic devices to attend a free Seafood Sustainability Webinar on scallops, from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m., June 13, presented by UF/IFAS Collier County Extension experts.


The webinar will provide a brief overview of the species and address management, economic values, harvest methods and gear, food safety mea- sures, nutrition and purchasing tips.

Scholarship recipient. He is one of 68 local students that collectively will re- ceive more than $230,000 in competi- tive scholarships from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation. The scholarship was created in 2010 to honor the late photographer, architect, musician and Alliance for the Arts board member Bruce Gora, well known for his dedication to the arts and volunteerism.


Davis, also a Florida Bright Fu- tures Medallion Scholarship winner, is already attending Edison State College on a dual-enrollment basis. He plans to finish his Associate of Arts degree and then attend the Savannah College of Art Design.
