“I'm not dressed, for all this.” Brenda was about to grab her basket and make a run for the checkout. “Relax.” He spoke reassuringly. Moving behind her, he slipped her coat off her shoulders and folded it into her wire basket. “Better?” he looked into her face.

“Well, no, I should be going now.”

His face was close to hers. An attractive face. Eyes to drown in, and lips. Lips on hers... pressing... warm, soft, tasting of wine. My God, Doug'll kill me, Brenda thought, kissing the dark-haired chap back. He gathered her in his arms, and in the narrow space between shelves they danced. Slowly, sexily to the soft music. It's only a dance, Brenda told herself. The kiss doesn't count - that's just the wine. She told herself that again as the baggy tee shirt fell to the floor followed by the tracksuit bottoms.

“The goods are definitely better than the packaging,” the chap said, taking her hand and leading her into the storeroom.

Big comfy cushions were scattered all over the floor. The large woman was propped up, boob tube abandoned, cat mask askew, a blissful look on her face as she cradled a man to each billowing breast. The chiropodist from the high street was greedily licking the newsagent's splendid erect penis and the man in the toga was noisily bonking the woman in the tiara.

“Too crowded,” the dark-haired man said, “let's go to my office.”

“Too bizarre,” Brenda replied, removing his hand from inside her knickers. “I only came out for a pint of milk, Doug will be wondering where I am.”

“Shame, but if you must go, don't forget we have a promotion on pork sausages. Buy one get one free.”

Brenda was suddenly sober. She pulled on her things and headed for the checkout. The dark-haired man was behind her, keys ready. She stuffed her shopping into a plastic bag and he let her out onto the pavement. It was dark. Rain blowing in the air.

“There's another promotion in six weeks, come as Cleopatra.”

Doug was asleep with the sound turned down on the telly. She counted the empty lager cans into a bin bag, put the Magnums in the freezer, various jars of alcohol infused molluscs into the depths of the cupboard and two packs of pork sausages in the fridge.

That's tomorrow's tea sorted, Brenda smiled. Touching her lips: tasting his. 30
