The Hong Kong Theatres Association has referred this matter to the Hong Kong Film Devel- opment Council, observing that Hong Kong has only around 45 cinemas with 199 screens, com- pared to more than 120 cinemas in the 1980s. A special taskforce has been formed to look into the problem and fi nd possible solutions.
