Media Luna eyes Lilet Media Luna has boarded international sales for Jacco Groen’s Lilet Never Happened, produced by Netherlands-based Springfilm and UK-based F&ME. The film is about a 12-year-old Filipina-American girl who is a child prostitute in Manila.


Max360 lands Date New Los Angeles distribution company Max360 International has picked up sales on Michael Mohan’s Save The Date starring Lizzy Caplan and Mark Webber.


Rabe goes for Pickford Poverty Row Entertainment has cast Lily Rabe to play Mary Pickford in their upcoming biopic.


Fox furthers Ghost deal Vicente Canales’ Barcelona-based sales outfit Film Factory Entertainment and Fox International Productions have announced that the FIP co-produced Spanish hit Ghost Graduation (Promocion Fantasma) will also be distributed in Latin America and North America by Fox. Fox and Will Smith’s Overbrook are working on an English-language remake.


Little wages War The Little Film Company has licensed War Of The Dead to eOne in the US, Momentum in the UK and Alliance in Canada.


Mirovision picks up Ants Mirovision has picked up international rights to $25m stereoscopic 3D CGI production Empire Of The Ants, an adaptation of Bernard Werber’s novel Les Fourmis. Korea’s Anima House and Wonderworld Studios are producing the English-language feature.

BYLIZSHACKLETON Hong Kong-based We Distribu- tion is unveiling romantic comedy The Truth Of Beauty, produced by Peter Ho-sun Chan and directed by Oi Wah (Aubrey) Lam. Produced by Chan’s We Pic-


tures, the project stars mainland Chinese actress Bai Baihe and Hong Kong actor Ronald Cheng. The film started shooting this month. Jojo Hui Yuet-chun is pro- ducing with Chan. Lam also scripted the project


which revolves around a young college graduate (Bai) who under- goes major cosmetic surgery to transform her life. Chan was in Cannes last year


with his directorial project Wu Xia. He is currently producing the Andrew Lau-directed action thriller The Guillotines. He previously produced Lam’s


romantic classic Twelve Nights in 2000. Lam’s directing credits also


include Hidden Tracks, Anna & Anna and a segment of the port- manteau film A Decade Of Love.

Chomet returns to Belleville


BYMELANIE GOODFELLOW Sylvain Chomet is reteaming with Paris-based animation house Les Armateurs for a prequel to The Tri- plets Of Belleville (Les Triplettes De Belleville). Didier Brunner’s Les Armateurs


is back in Cannes this year with Directors’ Fortnight title Ernest And Célestine. Chomet’s new animation,


Swing Popa Swing, will go back to the childhood of the elderly triplet singing trio at the heart of The Tri- plets Of Belleville.

The Illusionist with Pathé, has written a synopsis and outlined new characters. He is expected to deliver a script over the summer. Other Les Armateurs projects


include French Riviera, an action adventure animation set in the south of France to be co-directed by famed French illustrator Rich- ard Zielenkiewicz, or Monsieur Z. The company is also in the final


stages of production on Michel Ocelot’s Kirikou Et Les Hommes Et Les Femmes.

BYMELANIE GOODFELLOW Backup Media and Cannes Market are getting together to launch a new rights management service for Cinando users, cal led MovieChainer. The cloud-based app, launching this summer, will enable film-makers to keep records of their films’ contracts and monitor their royalties. Private demonstrations of the software will be held this week.


Alberto Barbera (pictured), the new artistic director of the Venice Film Festival, spoke to the Cannes Producers Network on Thursday morning alongside John Sloss of Cinetic and Roberto Olla of Eurimages. The programme sees 550 producers attend and welcomes 200 speakers over seven days.


Revolver starts VoD on Facebook

FindWatch- Share will give viewers the chance to do just that with Revolver’s new and library titles on Facebook. Users who share the service with friends will get discounts on titles.
