gram, the Board of Directors wanted to do something to help the elementary and middle schools as well. In 2008 the Board of Directors made a decision to create a mini-grant program. Applications were sent out to each ele- mentary and middle school in the Morgan Hill Unified School District to apply for the Mini Grant Program. The Mini Grant Program will provide grants to each school who applied, to help with various projects they normal- ly wouldn’t be able to afford. Last year we handed out a total of $7,500 to schools who had applied for the pro- gram, with the hopes that more schools apply for the Mini Grant Program this year.

With the amount of assistance needed to hold the festival each year, PICTURE OF OAKWOOD HS RECIPIENT

the Mushroom Mardi Gras relies on the help of local school groups and organi- zations to provide onsite assistance in pouring wine & beer, working the sou- venir booth, ticket cashiers and ID checkers, registration, set-up & tear down an much more. In exchange for their assistance, the Mushroom Mardi Gras provides donations to the many clubs and organizations who participate totaling approximately $16,000 each year.
