Golf When the Duke of Roxburghe, an avid golfer himself, sought to

commission the design of our Championship Course, he chose Dave Thomas. As both an international golfer, and as designer of The Belfry (home to three Ryder Cups) his course delivers on his hallmark well

positioned bunkers and large USGA rolling greens. The wide fairways follow the natural contours of the land, making full use of the various changes in elevations, and the resulting 7111-yard, par 72 course is regarded as one of the top five inland courses in Scotland.

So whilst it may only be the groom partaking of a relaxing round of golf the morning of his wedding day, the happy couple can both visit the 14th

tee for a spectacular photograph in the afternoon. The signature ‘Viaduct’ hole is elevated where the River Teviot hugs the left of the fairway, and

with the imposing viaduct in the background, it’s a commanding view and beautiful backdrop indeed.

“With immaculately presented greens and fairways, the reputation of the course is set to grow and grow”

Sam Torrence named the Roxburghe golf course the best ‘hidden gem’ course in Scotland
