Kings of Leon, Green Day and Jessie J, students can learn and have their efforts recognised while playing the music they love.
Entry for the new exams is now open, and a supporting website with a range of resources including video tutorials is now live. Each of the new songbooks contain the sheet music for six songs, backing and demo tracks on a CD, and hints and tips on performance and session skills. Not only suitable for use with the Rock & Pop exams, they are a fantastic teaching and learning resource for all rock and pop musicians.
A team of experienced rock and pop musicians worked on the arrangements and the backing and demo tracks. Some of these talented musicians will perform a selection of the music from the books live on Trinity’s stand throughout Musikmesse, including Ben Hillyard on bass, George Double on drums and Tom Fleming on guitar.
Trinity College London’s new
website,
www.trinityrock.com, is dedicated to the Rock & Pop exams. The first exams take place in May, and candidates will be able to enter the exams online. The website also contains song lists, information about how the exams work and an online store selling songbooks and downloads. It also features tutorial videos of professional musicians playing the music and explaining some of the technical
skills that Rock & Pop students will learn as they progress through the exams.
