Let your Soul Shine by Diana Woods

EMPOWERING QUOTES

“In your hands you hold the seeds of failure or the potential for greatness. Your hands are capable, but they must be used for the right things to reap the rewards you are capable of attain- ing. The choice is yours.” ~ Zig Ziglar

“Spend your energy looking for solutions, not excuses.” ~ Steve Cottell

“It’s the awareness...of how you are stuck, that makes you recover.” ~ Fritz Perls

“How old would you be in five years if you got that degree by starting now? he asks her. ‘Forty nine,’ she replies. ‘And how old will you be in five years if you don’t go back to school?’ ‘Forty nine,’ she answers seemingly confused... but now with that, she became conscious of the excuses she created for not elevating her life.” ~ Dr. Murray Banks

My Intention for You: So we’re on our path, ready for transformation - what’s holding us back? Excuses? Excuses are the resistance holding us back from some of the things we say we want. I don’t have enough time, I don’t have enough money or I can’t do that. Challenge the temptation to justify your excuses. It’s obvious that when we really want something, we get it. When we really want to do something, we do it. So why do we procrastinate and make excuses? When we are truthful, it is easier to get to the root of

why we are making excuses. The most common reason is fear. We’re afraid of making a mistake, making the wrong choice or not having it turn out as perfect as we see it in our head. Excuses and procrastination are fitting examples of us setting

up roadblocks to fulfilling our ideas and dreams. Now we are stuck in non-productive mode and are disappointed that we are not achieving our goals because of the excuses we have created. That energy is weighing us down; carrying the weight of disappointment is a heavy load. How can we shift from that pattern and release fear? We

can start realizing that fear is an inside job; it stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. We created it; we can step outside of it. Be decisive, make a choice; if that choice doesn’t fulfill our direction, we make another choice. There are no mistakes, only choices. Moving through the excuses and being accountable supports personal growth. Each day that we raise our aware- ness, acknowledge a change we desire, we are in alignment with our truth. The benefits to being truthful and accountable are that we have less guilt and disappointment. Being responsible for our thoughts and how we respond to the world is something we have control over; walking the line of truth and integrity ties into our self realization and our self esteem. Are we sometimes more accountable to others than we are to ourselves? Surround yourself with supportive, positive people such as an accountability partner that can help you stay on track, call you out on your excuses, help you discover what you are resistant to, and assist with the changes you are working to implement. Awareness is the first step. Let’s move forward from self-defeating habits of thinking. We are limitless; believe that! As Dr. Wayne Dyer has stated so per- fectly, “Excuses...Begone!” YOU make today GREAT! Love, Love, Love, Diana
